We are not referring to sending out tons of information to your email list, which is, by the way, considered spamming. What we are talking about is creating an email marketing strategy that builds an opt-in list of people who want to hear from you and your company.

Email marketing has high returns on investment because it is permission based, subscriber driven, and easy. People who sign up for your list have given you permission to communicate with them via email because they want to receive information from you. Email marketing is another form of Inbound Marketing.

Email marketing returned $43.62 for every dollar spent on it in 2009, and is expected to return $42.08 for every dollar spent on it in 2010. (Direct Marketing Association)

Email Marketing Strategy and Costs

Strategies include:

  • Create a sign up form on your website where visitors can sign up to be on your opt-in email list. This creates a data base of leads from people who want to hear from you and have agreed to have you send them email messages.
  • Create a landing page for those to go to after they receive your email message. It is a call to action that hopefully will change a lead to a conversion. This might be a form, a white paper download, or a registration for a free trial. Anything of value for your potential customers/clients.
  • Track success of landing pages and modify as needed.

Campaign design consultation - $170
  • Two hour session to determine the best campaign for your company.
  • Analysis of current website for call to action placements and possible landing page development.
  • Prepare a report with results.

Campaign Development – minimum $340

  • Add email capture form onto designated webpage.
  • Develop first landing page. Make changes once a month for two months to test performance.  Or create two different landing pages and perform A/B testing (this is better for larger email lists).
  • Tracking reports for two months.
  • Develop email.
  • Monitor list
