We are not referring to sending out tons of information to your email list, which is, by the way, considered spamming. What we are talking about is creating an email marketing strategy that builds an opt-in list of people who want to hear from you and your company.
Email marketing has high returns on investment because it is permission based, subscriber driven, and easy. People who sign up for your list have given you permission to communicate with them via email because they want to receive information from you. Email marketing is another form of Inbound Marketing.
Email marketing returned $43.62 for every dollar spent on it in 2009, and is expected to return $42.08 for every dollar spent on it in 2010. (Direct Marketing Association)
